Why is freaky friday rated pg

Had useful details 2. Parent of a 6 and 7-year-old Written by Dale Dietrich March 23, Holds Up Quite Well My 6 and almost 8 year olds quite enjoyed this movie. We went back to watch the Jodie Foster version after and it was almost unwatchable. If you are choosing between the two, this one is definitely better. We aren't talking great cinema here but an entertaining movie night movie for the family. Mom and daughter, having significant problems understanding each other, switch roles and bond through the experience.

Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis put their own interesting twists on this modernized version of the story, with Mom as a high-powered psychologist and daughter Anna as a wannabe rocker with a crush on a guy Mom feels ambivalent about, mostly because he rides a motorcycle.

The bonding and lessons do occur, quite realistically, and that's gratifying. However, this movie does have quite a few caveats. Anna and her mother's disrespect for each other is, at the least, grating.

Anna dresses provocatively, and makes a crack about Bible-sellers readers? Yoga and voodoo are invoked, which might make the film a no-go for some families, especially those of the Judeo-Christian persuasion.

Anna, in Tess' body, sets off a mosh pit, and signs an enamored fan's behind. In all honesty, this film has too many "freaky" parts to make it enjoyable for a Friday night. This title contains: Sexy stuff. The funniest chick flick ever! While I'm not on the chick flick side most of the time, this one is the best! For one thing, it has a little bit of science fiction to it. Secondly, I like Jamie Lee Curtis' acting in this movie! And third, there are plenty of moments that will leave you laughing!

It's nice to see a movie where the parent finds out what it's like to be their offspring and the offspring to find out what it's like to be their parent! Positive role models. Adult Written by Supersoph September 2, Some inappropriate content I think this movie has some comments and parts that would not be p. Terrible racist Asian stereotypes at the Asian restaurant. Mom walks off hitching up her pants, flashing her thong.

All unnecessary additions and we turned it off. Helped me decide. Adult Written by Whitedove August 13, Another musical overkill Watched with my 11 y. We didn't realize it was another cranked out musical, blech! Not very believable actresses, the musical part of it distracts from being able to dive in and escape with a funny movie Had useful details. Parent of a 3 and 5-year-old Written by Nicola G. November 4, No Concerning Themes I really enjoyed watching this film with my 5yo and 3yo.

I felt there was nothing scary, sexual, rude or racist. I suspect this film is rated 8 plus as many under that age would find it boring or above their head. My 3yo wouldn't have understood it but there was nothing scary or rude in it and my 5yo is pretty bright so she got the themes. A good filming about mother-daughter bonding and empathy. Adult Written by Mike M July 27, Pure laughter in family-friendly title. Jamie-Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan are the stars of this hilarious and fun, yet somewhat predictable flick.

Language and sexual content are kept to a low minimum, ensuring a squeaky-clean movie for the kids and the entire family for that matter. With the wedding only days away, their argument finally boils over in a Chinese eatery. Hearing their quarrel, the elderly mother of the perky restaurateur gives the two combatants identical fortune cookies that cause an amazing alteration.

But their biggest challenge is figuring out how to get their own bodies back before the ceremony takes place. Updated from the version starring Jodie Foster and Barbara Harris, this new millennium mom is totally career oriented—no funny fiascos doing the laundry here.

There are also other changes to the script. However, Lohan and Curtis do a good enough job of pulling off this Freaky Friday remake. Despite the increased pace of our lifestyle, or perhaps because of it, the art of communication between parents and teens can be just as problematic as it was 30 years ago.
