Which disciple hanged himself

He hung himself. Saint Augustine was a disciple in the sense he was a follower of Christ but he was not a disciple or apostle called by Jesus himself. Judas Iscariot. Hess hung himself in at the age of 93, in prison in Germany. John the brother of James and the one Jesus said take care of your mother, as He hung on the cross. By hanging himself on a tree and it choked him and he died. He was called Mathias , he replaced Judas as he had hanged himself. According to difference sources he was stoned, hung himself or he disemboweled himself.

NKJV John refers to himself as the "disciple Jesus loved" several times in his gospel in order to keep the readers' focus on Jesus, and not call attention to himself. A disciple is actually a follower who allows himself to be discipled by his teacher.

Jesus had many followers, then and today, who refused to be discipled. As Mary Magdalene was one of the first people at the tomb, it seems likely that she was a disciple. Possibly Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter. See John The other disciple not mentioned was John the Apostle as he never mentioned his name in his own gospel but referred to himself as the other disciple. Judas turned against Jesus, and sold Him out to the Pharisees for 30 pieces of silver.

Some suspect it was out of jealousy and that Judas only expected Jesus to get a beating, not actually be killed which is why he threw the coins back at the Pharisees later and then hung himself out of guilt. So for those who doubt the authenticity of the reports I suggest visit the places themselves before commenting these are crap.

One question though, if St. Peter died in Jerusalem why are his remains in Rome as reported? Who transported them? There is no evidence for that except for the claim by the Vatican that it is there. That is still an ongoing debate.

Abril 7, at hapon. Sorry for the wrong information, actually it was stated in the story that Peter went to Rome and so he died there. But there is a claim that he was crucified in Jerusalem, for he was an apostle to the Jews and not the Gentiles.

There is still a debate regarding that. Abril 11, at hapon. You are commenting using your WordPress. You are commenting using your Google account. You are commenting using your Twitter account.

And what happened to them? Share this: Twitter Facebook. Like this: Like Ikinakarga Snappy Sparrow replied: Nice blog. These are evidences enough to prove that Judas remained alive even after the resurrection of the Lord There are more concrete evidences compiled in my book "Whom Jesus "Really" Loved".

Jesus knows that there is a lot more to gain in keeping Judas alive and to see His Mighty Resurrection that He so frequently spoke of to His disciples, rather than to just allow Judas to die prematurely. Some might say that it was Matthias who was later added to the twelve disciples whom Paul was referring to.

The Scripture shows that Jesus was taken up to heaven way before Matthias was chosen by the casting of lots. Wherefore of these men which have companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us, beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection.

And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias. And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen, That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.

The Scriptures clearly shows the sequence of time and events when Jesus was taken up to heaven and when Matthias was numbered among the twelve disciples. Matthias was only chosen way after Jesus was taken up in the clouds.

There is a greater reward in the testimony of a believer than of the dead. The testimony of Judas brought light to everyone who saw the transformation of a traitor, turning into a believer. The Lord is not a God who keeps grudges But is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance ". The life of a believer , is the result of the Lord's wondrous calling from darkness into His marvelous light. The written testimony of Judas, no matter how we view it, brought light and clarity to the four Gospels and the believers who read them.

W hat the devil meant for evil, God has the power to turn it to good! How important is it to show proof that Judas was still alive even after the Resurrection of the Lord?

This is the mystery revealed , that can transform and open our understanding to the Greatest Love ever unfolded The love that transcends all human understanding It is the Unconditional Love of Jesus; the Love that has no bounds ; the greatest treasure that He offers for everyone to receive, no matter where you are in life.

We may never understand why and how Jesus could ever give another chance to a sinner like Judas, but I can boldly say If the Lord can extend such love and forgiveness to all sinners including you and I , what makes us think that we are any better than Judas or anyone else, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" , Romans KJV. The mentality that limits the love and mercies of the Lord, is a mind that is trapped in a self righteous religious prison cell; and until we realize that the love of Jesus is greater than the entire sins of the world and is freely open and available to anyone who calls on His name, then we are missing the greatest treasure in the Kingdom of God, when Jesus tore apart the prison veil from top to bottom when He died on the cross and resurrected on the third day!

That resurrection day opened up everyone's prison gates and gave us free access to go t he Father, the Almighty God through His son Jesus Christ!

Saint Matthias, flourished 1st century ad, Judaea; d. Judas Iscariot was one of the Twelve Apostles. Judas brought men to arrest Jesus and identified him with a kiss. Early Church tradition says that Peter probably died by crucifixion with arms outstretched at the time of the Great Fire of Rome in the year This took place three months after the disastrous fire that destroyed Rome for which the emperor Nero wished to blame the Christians.
